3f’s purpose is to bring digital finance leaders and scholars into direct dialogue. Practitioners gain access to cutting-edge research, while scholars engage with real-world innovation.
3f is founded and chaired by Dr. David Stolin, a finance academic whose interest in innovation goes back to working at a US software startup in the late 1980s. David’s research has been published in the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, among others. He has received top awards for innovation from the Academy of Management, the Association of MBAs, the European Economic Association, the Financial Management Association and QS-Wharton’s Reimagine Education. David holds a Ph.D. in finance from London Business School.
3f is organized by Ed.movie Inc., which has also produced such innovations as Finance Meets Comedy talk show at the 50th anniversary meeting of the European Finance Association in Amsterdam and the world’s first cinematic management case study. Ed.movie’s CEO is Dr. Emilia Bunea, a long-term finance executive and management educator. Emilia’s over two decades of C-level experience include being a CFO overseeing a EUR 20 billion balance sheet and the CEO of a financial services firm with 600 staff and two million clients. Emilia’s book Leadership for the CFO was published by Routledge in 2025. She holds a Ph.D. in Management from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
